The latest event on Martin’s 180+ year time line is the new Road Series GT, just like its ever popular predecessors the new 000RSGT and DRSGT has a solid Sapele back and sides, a Sitka spruce top and a Mortise and Tenon neck joint, but now they come equipped with a Solid Sipo neck, a gloss top and the new Fishman Sonitone USB. This handy addition to the traditional Fishman Sonitone seen in the previous Road Series guitars allows you to plug straight into your computer, without the need for a D.I box or an audio interface you can begin to create and record in software such as Pro Tools, Garage Band, Logic etc.
So if for a moment you thought the invention of the 14th fret guitar, X-bracing and the dreadnought shape was enough for the clever eggs at Martin & Co you’d be mistaken.
