New 2016 Martin Guitar Models

Martin announced lots of new models at this years winter Namm show. Some are a new twist on existing models and as you would expect there are some limited edition and custom models too. Here is a run down of the new 15, 17 and standard series models..

17 Series

These new 17 series look great and have a real vintage vibe about them. They come in 2 finishes, ‘Black Smoke’ and ‘Whiskey Sunset’ and there are 3 body shapes…..

00 12 fret Grand Concert (00-17S), 00 14 fret sloped shoulder Grand Concert (00L-17) and 000 14 fret Auditorium (000-17).

All of the new Martin 17 series models have a solid Sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides. Guatemalan rosewood is the wood of choice for the fingerboard and bridge and all have a modified low oval neck with a Performing Artist taper.

15 Series

The DC15ME has been upgraded with the addition of the new Fishman Matrix VT Enhance pickup system and the OMC15E has been re-introduced to the 15 Series with the same pickup system as the DC15ME.

Standard Series
Some existing Martin Standard Series models have been given the cutaway treatment and new body shapes with the addition of the new Fishman Aura Vt Pickup System too. The new models are the DC-18E, GPC18E, OMC-18E, DC-28E, GPC28E, OMC-28E, DC-35E, GPC35E, OMC-35E.
